Material Gestures is an exhibition of multimedia assemblage works by Sheree Hovsepian, macramé from the private collection of Lovie May Coats, slides from the University of Chicago Glass Lantern Slide Collection, and texts and periodicals from the Johnson Publishing Archive + Collections that trace the origin and movement of macramé from Egypt to Iran and the Southern Caucasus. The exhibition is guest curated by Allison Glenn, Curatorial Associate + Publications Manager, Prospect New Orleans.
