Angel Bat Dawid descended on Chicago’s Jazz & improvised music scene just a few years ago. In a very short time, the potency, prowess, spirit & charisma of her cosmic musical proselytizing has taken her from relatively unknown improviser to borderline ubiquitous performer in Chicago’s avant-garde. This intimate performance, with Angel, Julian Otis, and Xristian Espinoza, follows the dedication of the Material Memorial to Tamir Rice on the Arts Bank Lawn on June 23rd at 2pm. These events are free and open to the public.

Angel Bat Dawid composed and premiered her opera “Song of Solomon: A Cosmic Space Opera” at Co-Prosperity Sphere in 2018. Angel also curates a series of nine multidisciplinary concerts at Elastic Arts called “Mothership9” where she is building a sonic mythological spaceship to the cosmos. This year 2019, Angel makes her recording debut on Chicago record label International Anthem. Her Album “The Oracle” was created entirely alone – performing, overdubbing & mixing all instruments & voices by her self – recorded using only her cell phone in various locations, from London UK to Cape Town RSA, but primarily from her residency in the attic of the historic Radcliffe Hunter mansion in Bronzeville, Southside, Chicago. Keep in eye out for the Oracle on Vinyl this summer, and a fall tour with her 6 piece band Tha Brothahood!
