Inspired by snapshots that Davis’ parents took the summer they met in Chicago, the 1975 series captures scenes of the city’s South Side. Nearly forty years later, Noah found the photographs and created 11 large-scale oil paintings based on the snapshots. The exhibition marks the first time the series is exhibited to the public.

This opening reception will include a talk by Helen Molesworth, Chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles and performance by Theaster Gates and Rebuild musician-in-residence Mikel Patrick Avery.
