Black Cinema House presents the short film works of two film students, Chelsea Williams and Keenan Dailey!
Directed and written by Keenan Dailey, a student at University of Chicago at Urbana – Champaign, the movie “Greene” is about a 28-year old black gallery owner named Marcus Greene, who is struggling to find peace with the fractured remnants of his life. However, due to Marcus’s depressive state his gallery has been failing. Despite the efforts of his brother-in-law, Marcus then faces foreclosure. This story follows Marcus’ journey as he comes to terms with his past, present, and future.
“Wake Up: A Dope Short”, created by New York University student Chelsea Williams, is part of a larger, ongoing video series. It tells the story of Craig, who gets fired and, in a drunken stupor to drown his sorrows, takes a sudden turn.
Join us for this screening, stay after to discuss the film with Keenan Dailey! Held at the Dorchester Art + Housing Collaborative (1456 E. 70th St.), the screening is free – no RSVP required!
