Join us for a performance by the Civic String Quartet. They will play Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 Rosamunde and Britten’s String Quartet No. 2. The group will explore how the composers use different musical textures to “paint” different scenes and evoke contrasting moods. The quartet will also consider the historical context of Britten’s second string quartet, which he wrote in 1945, and explore how the emotional content of the work might reflect events in Britten’s life and the world at that time.
